Easter 2008

Emily 10 months old

Turning 10 months old was another eventful month for Emily. The day she turned 10 months old we finally got her ears pierced. Everyone that walked into Claire's were so worried about her crying, but I told them that she would be ok and she won't remember a thing. :) Emily also got another tooth in as well as taking her first step and she finally decided to hold her own bottle.

St. Patricks Day

Hailey's 4th Birthday

Hailey had a great 4th birthday this year. She made out like a bandit with all of her gifts from everyone. We thank you again for coming out to celebrate Hailey's birthday and for all of her gifts. It's a little long, but please enjoy Hailey's birthday pictures. See you next year!!!

Hailey's 1st day in Pre-K

Hailey moved to the Pre-K class AKA Ms. Dee Dee's class on February 25th (2 weeks before she turned 4). Her school said she is ready for the move, but I wasn't. I teared up watching her go to her new classroom. I'm such a sap now. Moving on, they say she is too smart for her own good and would do well in the big kid class. With the move, Hailey now has to wear "unicorns" (uniforms), gets her own desk with her name on it and has homework. She will stay in Pre-K for this semester and plus be in there all next year. This way she will have a semester up on the other kids that move to Pre-K next year. With the curriculum in her school they start the children off by learning cursive. I was afraid at first of their process of teaching the children, but I'm OK now with the meeting we had about the curriculum and confident my Hailey boo will do just fine.

Emily's 9 month check up

Emily had her 9 month check up on Febuary 20th and she is developing right on track. She is 17 lbs. 10 oz. and is 27 3/4" long. Hailey was 16 lbs. 14 oz. and 26" long, so needless to say Emily is going to be taller than her older sister. Luckily Emily didn't need any shots this time around, so no hard knots or fever. Turning nine months old was a big month for Emily. She is crawling all over the place, standing up with help of the furniture and a little by herself, waving (cutest thing I have ever seen), sleeping in her crib all night long & she got her first tooth (unlike Hailey who got her first tooth at 1 years old). Emily will be running around with her big sister in no time.

Valentine's Day 2008

Let's Rodeo San Antonio

Michael and I were able to go to the rodeo twice this year (two date nights-whoo hooo) and had a great time and then on the last day we took the girls and my nephew Cristian to the grounds.

Emily 7-8 months old

Emily is getting so big, she learned how to crawl so she is all over the place and getting into everything she can get her hot little hands onto. She is learning the phrase, no, no, no, but just smiles when we say it. Emily loves doing whatever Hailey is doing and loves to just watch her big sister.

Christmas Video's

The video starts at MaMa & PaPa Ney's house the weekend before Christmas and then Christmas morning at our house. Again the video thing is new to us, so we will have it up soon too. We promise.

Hailey's Dance Recital 12-16-07

I'm sorry, but we are still working on getting her recital put on our blog. It's a little difficult because we have to use the DVD we paid for by the professional company. Please stay tuned and I will let you know when we have it ready for you.

Happy 2008

We did not do much for New Year's Eve. My parents came over and we BBQued and drank a little while we watched TV. My Dad and Emily crashed out about 10:30 PM and Michael took a little cat nap on the couch before midnight hit. Hailey and I lit a couple of sparklers on the back porch, but it was too windy for anymore. Happy New Year!

Christmas 2007

We had a very hectic Christmas this year. Michael has been going out of town quite a bit for work so that left me with way more on my plate than I anticipated. Unfortunately with our busy schedules of work, school, Hailey's dance recital and Christmas shopping we were not able to decorate outside. Several neighbors were disappointed as others I'm sure were happy so they would have a chance to win. We shall get them next year. :oP However Hailey and I were able to decorate our Christmas tree (a week before Christmas mind you) while Michael was out of town for work. The girls also helped me finish Christmas shopping with some help from my Mom. We celebrated 5 days of Christmas so we could fit in all of our families. The first day started on the 22nd with Michael's Mom and Step-Dad. Of course the girls made out like bandits. Santa brought Hailey a My Little Pony castle along with several ponies, Dora flash cards, Rockies & a play set for her babies. Santa brought Emily several outfits, rattles and farm animal toys. The next night was spent with my family at my aunts house. We decided to do a Chinese Christmas gift exchange this year and things got a little rowdy. We came out with a flashlight and a table fountain. Christmas Eve we spent it at Michael's grandfather's house where the girls didn't do to bad again. Hailey got an outfit, Candy Land castle game and a My Little Pony that you can color on and Emily got a Jungle animal train and bear all from thier Great-Grandfather and Great-Aunt. Afterwards we went to another Chinese Christmas with his Grandfather's family. Again we left with power scissors and hickory farms sausage. Finally we got home where Michael and I stayed up with Santa Clause until 4 am getting the girls gifts ready for Christmas day. Santa must have thought they were really good this year, well Emily for sure. Santa brought Hailey a doll house, horse tent, Dora cash register and bowling game, several "my first" games and tons of clothes. Santa brought our sweet Emmy boo some "babies first" toys, sing along stage and of course tons of cute clothes. Later that afternoon we went to Michael's Dad and Step-Mom's house for Christmas lunch, we were a tad late because Santa kept us up so late. The girls did pretty well again with Michael's Dad's family as well as from them with clothes, stuffed animals, a toy horse, kitchen stuff, a key board with microphone, cash register and gift cards. Santa made a special visit to pass out everyone gifts and Hailey was very excited to see "him". Michael's Dad's sister played Santa for us. Thanks Martha, it was very entertaining. The last day of Christmas was spent the day after Christmas with my immediate family at our house, so we could give my nieces and nephews their gifts and eat dinner. My Mom bought the girls jama sets and Hailey was upset because my Mom didn't wrap her gift. She just left them in the decorative box. I knew she would notice. Thank you everyone for a wonderful Christmas and all the wonderful gifts for the girls as well as for us big kids. Sorry it's so long, but it was a long week for us.

Going to the Ballet

I took my Mom and Hailey to see The Nutcracker on December 22nd and we had a wonderful time with the exception of being late and it taking me 20 minutes to find parking downtown with all the construction and a football game going on at the Alamodome. I dropped my Mom and Hailey off "near" the Lila Cockrell Theater so Hailey wouldn't miss any of the ballet while I find a parking spot. I finally made it in 20 minutes later and had to wait until intermission to sit with Hailey and my Mom. After the ballet was over, the dancers stood outside the theater to sign programs and take pictures. Hailey was able to get a few autographs before the dancers had to go, but no pictures because for once I forgot my camera. I had no idea they did that, so next year I will be prepared and on time.
