Love Creek Orchard & Pumpkin Patch 10/5/08

We decided to take the kiddos to Love Creek Orchard in Medina, TX to enjoy some fall festivities. They enjoyed making a scarecrow, running around the hay maze, the petting zoo, pony rides, painting pumpkins and much much more.

Night in Ole Converse Parade 10/4/08

This year Hailey, Jenna, Cristian & Mindy were in the Converse Parade for the girls dance studio, Mary Lou's. Of course they did wonderfully.

Comal County Fair 9/27/08

We decided to take the girls to the Comal Fair this year for family time and of course they had a blast. First we stopped by the petting zoo since we missed the rodeo, ate some dinner, ran into old friends and family everywhere, did some browsing of all the photos entered and the highlight of the night, the carnival and pony rides. They wore us all out, and passed out before we even left the grounds.

All the girl cousins

Back to school for the mom 8/25/08

Back to school for me too. This semester I am taking two classes (1) Children's Literature (very interesting and good to know) and (2) Mass Communications, also very interesting. I think I'm going to enjoy this semester and hopfully bring my GPA back up. :)

Emily 15 month check up 8/20/08

Our Emmy boo had her 15 month check up today. She is 32" tall and weighs 21 lbs 9 oz , so height is 90th percentile and weight is 20th percentile, in others words tall and skinny her doctor said and doing wonderfully. My poor girl also had to get 4 more shots, two in each leg. Emily is officially off the bottle (cut her off cold turkey) and eating everything we eat and then some. She understands most everything we ask her to do like taking something to Hailey or Daddy as well as to the trash. She gives us high fives, knows where to go to take a bath and has no problem putting her hand out and grunting about getting a banana in the morning before we head out the door for school.

Hailey's dentist appointment 8/21/08

Ok we tried again at the dentist office to fix Hailey's 3rd cavity. She did good taking the sedation medication, lying down with the gas and letting the dentist check her teeth, but as soon as she started giving her the shot in her mouth she wanted up. I got her calmed down and told her she could go to MaMa and PaPa's house afterwards and she said ok and lied down again to let them try again, but again she got up freaking out. Long story short we yanked that sucker out and all was done with, so now my baby has lost her first tooth at 4 years old. She thought it was neat to look at her tooth in her pink treasure box they gave her and the whole story about the tooth fairy coming to take her tooth and leaving money behind. The tooth fairy was extra generous ($5.00) with her because she had to have her tooth pulled instead of loosing it the normal way.

First day of school 8/18/08

Hailey with her Pre-K teacher Ms. Dee Dee. She was so excited about her new books and supplies and of course she had to show me her desk and supplies when I picked her up.

My Mom's b-day outing 8/15/08

The girls and I decided to take my Mom out for her birthday down to the Riverwalk for lunch at the Rainforest Cafe (very neat place, must try & see), took a stroll along the Riverwalk, took the kiddos to the Children's Museum (the girls loved by the way, especially Emily) and ended the day with feeding the ducks and playing on the play set at Brackenridge Park. I don't know how much was for my Mom and how much was for the girls, but she said she enjoyed her day.

Summer Fun 2008

The girls have had a busy summer this year. We had two graduations, several birthday parties, outing to Great Grandma & Grandpa's house as well as PaPa Noah's house, swimming and our family vacation to Galveston, TX. Michael and I also got to enjoy a Martina McBride concert at the Verizon Wireless Ampitheater.

A whole lotta birthdays

This year we decided to have all of our July and August birthday's in one big party, so it was for my Grandma's 76th, my cousin Gavin's 3rd, my cousin Kylie's 22nd, my niece Amber's 9th, my nephew Cristian's 6th, my cousin Laura's 27th and my Mom's 53rd, so yes a whole lotta birthdays. We did a Hawaiian theme and of course I was in charge of decorations. We had crafts, games and karaoke performances planned as well as swimming and a water slide. It was a little chaotic, but fun to see everyone enjoy themselves.

Fourth of July 2008

We spent this years fourth of July in Seguin again and this time we were able to go to the parade. The girls had fun watching the floats go by and seeing PaPa Noah, Brenda and Aunt Martha. After the parade we took a walk down to the different booths and stopped by the water fountain and of course the big pecan then went to lunch and went to PaPa's house for some swimming. Later on we made it on down to the fairgrounds to watch the fireworks and then went home.

Hailey update & Emily 13-14 months old

Hailey is getting sassier and sassier each day. She is also in the stage of not wanting to clean up her room or take a bath. She gets away with it while she is at her MaMa's house, but not with Mom & Dad. Of course everything is Why? She loves listening to her Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus CD's on the way to school (only time I let her listen to it because Mommy needs a turn) and watching her National Velvet movie over and over plus others. Emily is getting so big and much more sillier like her older sister was at her age. She is playing peek-a-boo, waving bye-bye on command, shakes her head no, and sings little tunes all the time. Emily tries so hard to keep up with the big kids, but they don't always watch out for her. She has 7 teeth now, a little uneven, but hopefully she will start getting the rest in with no fuss. I have already moved her up to 18 month size clothes because she is so long and keeps growing out of her footie pajamas. Her feet are also growing a bit faster than Hailey's did at her age and she is in a size 4 already. Like her doctor said she will be tall and skinny. We are still trying to get her off the bottle, but not working out so much. Now that she holds it she wants one all day long if we let her. She will drink out of a cup for a little bit, but then throws it on the floor or plays with it. If she sees her bottle then it's all over, that's all she wants, so I guess we will just have to cut her off cold turkey.

Hailey's dance recital & camps

Hailey's dentist appointment

Well Hailey had a dentist appointment on May 29th to have some cavities filled. Originally they wanted to put her under because of her age, but my health insurance wouldn't cover it, which is good because it would cost a lot for teeth that will fall out eventully and I didn't want to see her put under at 4 years old. So they gave her a "kiddie martini" they called it to make her relaxed and possibly sleep, laughing gas, and of course numbed her mouth. She did surprisingly well for the first cavity and most of the second cavity, we had to hold her down to finish that one. Since they barely finished the second, we left the third for another time. Well let me tell you, she was so mad at me after they finished that she was crying, hitting, yelling and was so hysterical because they reshaped her front teeth (where the cavities were) and plus her gums were still numb from the shots she kept telling me to take her teeth out NOW. It took us awhile to get out of the dentist office plus the parking lot, but we finally did and I got her calmed down. She was so upset that I took her to eat pizza for lunch, get her toe nails painted and took her and Emily swimming. She was much better afterwards. I'm not looking forward to the next appointment.

Emily's 1st year

Retama Park

Just a quick and spur of the moment family outing. Hailey loved watching the horses race and Michael enjoyed the gambling. We made our money back except for about $20 bucks for our fabulous dinner that Michael bought for us. :-P

Mother's Day 2008

I had a nice mother's day this year. Michael and the girls spent the Saturday before with his grandparents and at his Mom's house in Nixon and on Mother's Day we went to my Aunt and Uncle's house to have lunch and swimming. Hailey couldn't wait to get into the pool and loved playing on Aunt Janet's new playground and swing set. Michael and the girls bought me two charms from James Avery that I love.

Emily 11-12 months old

Emily had another big couple of months. Turning 11 months she started walking, climbing and clapping. At 12 months old or the big 01 Emily had her 1 year check up. She weighed in at 19 lbs. 4.5 oz. (Hailey was 18 lbs. 14 oz.) and was 29 1/2" long where as Hailey was 27 3/4" long. Just a little bit bigger than her big sister and is running along the average range. Emily also had to get some more shots, 3 to be exact and she cried of course, but mommy made it all better. Emily has mastered her walking by now and is all over the place. We can't stop her now. She has also improved on her climbing and getting herself down from the couch or when she is in your arms so we have to watch out. She is such a little daredevil and makes everyone laugh at home and day care. Emily also loves to copy our actions or better yet when we are yelling. She thinks it's hilarious. She has started to bring us things and we tell her thank you and she gets a kick out of that as well. Emily is saying Mama, Dada and makes the sounds for thank you. She also beginning to push Hailey out of the way when she wants me. Missy sassy pants Emily. One more thing she is beginning to get her top teeth in and all four are trying to come in at the same time with one poking through already. With that she is loving to eat and try everything that we are eating. Her favorites are grilled chesse sandwhiches, bread, bananas, green beans, tomatoes, french fries or potatoes for that matter and "somegetti" of course among others. At her birthday parties she enjoyed us singing to her, but not having icing on her face, she cried, so she is her mother's daughter with getting messy. Thank you to everyone that was able to come and for her wonderful gifts, even though she prefered the paper at the time and yes Mindy the "WINNER" the ladybug book. :) Hope you enjoy the montage of our Emmy Boo/Cheeky Monkey/Pumpkin pie/Hotstuff/Emily Kay.

Race for the Cure 2008

On April 29th it was the annual Race for the Cure and this year would make Michelle's and I's 3rd time to go and Hailey's first. We started the morning off at 5:30 AM to get ready and pick up Michelle. We got downtown to the Alamodome about 6:30 AM. It took us about a hour and a half to finish the 5 K (3 mile) walk. Hailey needed a couple of breaks for her short little legs, water & snack. Hailey is ready to do it again next year.

Hailey's 4 year check up & pictures

Hailey had her 4 year check up on March 25th and it was a big milestone for her at the doctor's office. She weighs in at 38 1/2 lbs. and is 37 3/4" tall, so she is still short for her age. Before being weighed in she had to leave a urine sample for the doctor and she didn't understand why so that was pretty fun. Eventually we got it accomplished the next day and I had to make an extra trip to the doctor's office. Along with the peeing in a cup they tried to check her hearing and eye sight, but again she was not very cooperative. After all that my poor baby had to get to four shots (two in each leg). She asked me why they did that to her. That right there broke my heart, but she got two stickers and felt a little better.

Easter 2008

Emily 10 months old

Turning 10 months old was another eventful month for Emily. The day she turned 10 months old we finally got her ears pierced. Everyone that walked into Claire's were so worried about her crying, but I told them that she would be ok and she won't remember a thing. :) Emily also got another tooth in as well as taking her first step and she finally decided to hold her own bottle.

St. Patricks Day

Hailey's 4th Birthday

Hailey had a great 4th birthday this year. She made out like a bandit with all of her gifts from everyone. We thank you again for coming out to celebrate Hailey's birthday and for all of her gifts. It's a little long, but please enjoy Hailey's birthday pictures. See you next year!!!

Hailey's 1st day in Pre-K

Hailey moved to the Pre-K class AKA Ms. Dee Dee's class on February 25th (2 weeks before she turned 4). Her school said she is ready for the move, but I wasn't. I teared up watching her go to her new classroom. I'm such a sap now. Moving on, they say she is too smart for her own good and would do well in the big kid class. With the move, Hailey now has to wear "unicorns" (uniforms), gets her own desk with her name on it and has homework. She will stay in Pre-K for this semester and plus be in there all next year. This way she will have a semester up on the other kids that move to Pre-K next year. With the curriculum in her school they start the children off by learning cursive. I was afraid at first of their process of teaching the children, but I'm OK now with the meeting we had about the curriculum and confident my Hailey boo will do just fine.

Emily's 9 month check up

Emily had her 9 month check up on Febuary 20th and she is developing right on track. She is 17 lbs. 10 oz. and is 27 3/4" long. Hailey was 16 lbs. 14 oz. and 26" long, so needless to say Emily is going to be taller than her older sister. Luckily Emily didn't need any shots this time around, so no hard knots or fever. Turning nine months old was a big month for Emily. She is crawling all over the place, standing up with help of the furniture and a little by herself, waving (cutest thing I have ever seen), sleeping in her crib all night long & she got her first tooth (unlike Hailey who got her first tooth at 1 years old). Emily will be running around with her big sister in no time.

Valentine's Day 2008

Let's Rodeo San Antonio

Michael and I were able to go to the rodeo twice this year (two date nights-whoo hooo) and had a great time and then on the last day we took the girls and my nephew Cristian to the grounds.

Emily 7-8 months old

Emily is getting so big, she learned how to crawl so she is all over the place and getting into everything she can get her hot little hands onto. She is learning the phrase, no, no, no, but just smiles when we say it. Emily loves doing whatever Hailey is doing and loves to just watch her big sister.

Christmas Video's

The video starts at MaMa & PaPa Ney's house the weekend before Christmas and then Christmas morning at our house. Again the video thing is new to us, so we will have it up soon too. We promise.

Hailey's Dance Recital 12-16-07

I'm sorry, but we are still working on getting her recital put on our blog. It's a little difficult because we have to use the DVD we paid for by the professional company. Please stay tuned and I will let you know when we have it ready for you.

Happy 2008

We did not do much for New Year's Eve. My parents came over and we BBQued and drank a little while we watched TV. My Dad and Emily crashed out about 10:30 PM and Michael took a little cat nap on the couch before midnight hit. Hailey and I lit a couple of sparklers on the back porch, but it was too windy for anymore. Happy New Year!

Christmas 2007

We had a very hectic Christmas this year. Michael has been going out of town quite a bit for work so that left me with way more on my plate than I anticipated. Unfortunately with our busy schedules of work, school, Hailey's dance recital and Christmas shopping we were not able to decorate outside. Several neighbors were disappointed as others I'm sure were happy so they would have a chance to win. We shall get them next year. :oP However Hailey and I were able to decorate our Christmas tree (a week before Christmas mind you) while Michael was out of town for work. The girls also helped me finish Christmas shopping with some help from my Mom. We celebrated 5 days of Christmas so we could fit in all of our families. The first day started on the 22nd with Michael's Mom and Step-Dad. Of course the girls made out like bandits. Santa brought Hailey a My Little Pony castle along with several ponies, Dora flash cards, Rockies & a play set for her babies. Santa brought Emily several outfits, rattles and farm animal toys. The next night was spent with my family at my aunts house. We decided to do a Chinese Christmas gift exchange this year and things got a little rowdy. We came out with a flashlight and a table fountain. Christmas Eve we spent it at Michael's grandfather's house where the girls didn't do to bad again. Hailey got an outfit, Candy Land castle game and a My Little Pony that you can color on and Emily got a Jungle animal train and bear all from thier Great-Grandfather and Great-Aunt. Afterwards we went to another Chinese Christmas with his Grandfather's family. Again we left with power scissors and hickory farms sausage. Finally we got home where Michael and I stayed up with Santa Clause until 4 am getting the girls gifts ready for Christmas day. Santa must have thought they were really good this year, well Emily for sure. Santa brought Hailey a doll house, horse tent, Dora cash register and bowling game, several "my first" games and tons of clothes. Santa brought our sweet Emmy boo some "babies first" toys, sing along stage and of course tons of cute clothes. Later that afternoon we went to Michael's Dad and Step-Mom's house for Christmas lunch, we were a tad late because Santa kept us up so late. The girls did pretty well again with Michael's Dad's family as well as from them with clothes, stuffed animals, a toy horse, kitchen stuff, a key board with microphone, cash register and gift cards. Santa made a special visit to pass out everyone gifts and Hailey was very excited to see "him". Michael's Dad's sister played Santa for us. Thanks Martha, it was very entertaining. The last day of Christmas was spent the day after Christmas with my immediate family at our house, so we could give my nieces and nephews their gifts and eat dinner. My Mom bought the girls jama sets and Hailey was upset because my Mom didn't wrap her gift. She just left them in the decorative box. I knew she would notice. Thank you everyone for a wonderful Christmas and all the wonderful gifts for the girls as well as for us big kids. Sorry it's so long, but it was a long week for us.

Going to the Ballet

I took my Mom and Hailey to see The Nutcracker on December 22nd and we had a wonderful time with the exception of being late and it taking me 20 minutes to find parking downtown with all the construction and a football game going on at the Alamodome. I dropped my Mom and Hailey off "near" the Lila Cockrell Theater so Hailey wouldn't miss any of the ballet while I find a parking spot. I finally made it in 20 minutes later and had to wait until intermission to sit with Hailey and my Mom. After the ballet was over, the dancers stood outside the theater to sign programs and take pictures. Hailey was able to get a few autographs before the dancers had to go, but no pictures because for once I forgot my camera. I had no idea they did that, so next year I will be prepared and on time.
